Observe the process of making Hina dolls and experience the craftsmanship to feel the traditional beauty of Japan.

■ Company introduction

Founded in 1960, Matsuyoshi Doll Co., Ltd. manufactures and sells various dolls, mainly hina dolls, and Japanese accessory TSUMAMI-ZAIKU. 

We have five Sekku puppet craftsmen (certified by the Japanese Doll Association), of which there are only about 70 in Japan, and we produce Hina dolls that give shape to our thoughts with our reliable techniques. 

Due to the high degree of perfection and the solid inspection system, there are few complaints, and the delivery destinations are various, such as department stores and doll specialty stores nationwide.

Our strength lies in the combination of the high skills of our craftsmen and a flexible attitude to challenge new possibilities, and we aim for three way satisfaction through constant improvement of technology and the development of new products.

The first floor is a store, the second floor is a traditional crafts hall where visitors can see, hear, and experience traditional crafts, and the third floor is a workshop. The traditional crafts hall offers information on the five festivals, a display of seven-tiered dolls and large armor, and a photo spot where visitors can enjoy wearing Kabuto (Japanese helmets).

■ Site tour details

The plan begins with an introduction to the Five Sekku and the features of our dolls at the Traditional Crafts Hall on the 2nd floor.

After that, you will visit our workshop on the 3rd floor to observe the production process up close. You can also ask questions directly to the craftsmen. 

After the tour, visitors will have a hands-on experience of crafting experience available using the fabrics and tools actually used in the production of Hina dolls. 

here are three types of craft experiences: Japanese Magnets, Mini GAMAGUCHI-Charm, and Accessories, and you can choose one or two of them to book.

You can also try on a Kabuto (Japanese helmets) or experience the Hina Doll Experience

at the photo spot on the 2nd floor. 

Observing the production process of Hina dolls itself is quite a rare experience, and it is a popular plan because you can observe the craftsmanship of fine and careful handwork up close and experience the delicate and traditional beauty that is unique to Japan.
