A tour of a factory developing and producing stockings—a rare opportunity even in Japan—

■ Company introduction

Nakano Industry Co., Ltd. manufactures women’s legwear, such as stockings and tights, and industrial filters.

Although the company has been in business for over 100 years, we began with the production and sales of tomato ketchup.

We then began producing canned mandarin oranges and other products as Lily’s first canning factory, continuing to produce canned bamboo shoots until 1994.

We also began producing blankets as a new business at the end of the Showa era (1926-1989).

After that, we changed our industry from blanket manufacturing to stocking manufacturing, and here we are today.

■ Women’s legwear manufacturing

Under the slogan “Create beauty from the legs,” we focus on the development of stockings, tights, stirrup tights, and other products.

We produce and process products at our own and affiliated factories, enabling us to apply finishes such as static electricity prevention, antimicrobial and deodorant finish, and UV protection.

We also hold multiple patents for legwear manufacturing.

Our own brand “RONMON” is a brand reserved for only the highest quality legwear we produce and is patronized by a wide variety of customers through online shops and other sites.

■ Industrial filter manufacturing

Nakano Industry Co., Ltd. manufactures filters for filtration and filters for drain pipes utilizing technology refined through stocking production.

The filters we produce are made of fine mesh stocking materials, giving them elasticity.

For filtration and cushioning purposes, our industrial filters are used by a wide variety of companies in situations such as production sites, automobile-related factories, and food sanitation.

■ Site tour details

Participants will see a stocking production factory, one of only about ten such factories in Japan[A1] .

We have established a consistent production system from knitting to package dyeing, and we allow participants to see all processes up close[A2] .
