 A factory tour that allows participants to learn about the cardboard manufacturing process and a cardboard workshop that both children and adults can enjoy.

■ Company introduction

Arakawa Shigyo Ltd ., founded in 1969 and established in 1989, is a company that manufactures and sells cardboard boxes.

We also sell packaging materials and offer Thomson die cutting.

We are located in Arakawa, Higashiosaka City, Osaka Prefecture, with two employees.

Based on our philosophy “Imagine and Create,” we aim to be a company that pursues the possibilities of cardboard and offers smiles through the resolution of problems in local communities.

■ Designing and selling original products

We design and sell original products on the online shop “I Just,” including “Tayutau 2,” a cardboard cradle, “Rague-chan,” a rugby ball-shaped table, and “Corrugated Board Desk,” a cardboard desk.

All original products are made of cardboard, making them lightweight and easy to carry, eliminating the need for dedicated tools or glue for assembly.

Another advantage is that the products can be disposed of as recyclables, making them environmentally friendly.

■ Site tour details

With this plan, participants can see the process of how a cardboard box is made and take part in a cardboard workshop.

1. Observing the process of how a cardboard box is made

Participants can learn about how cardboard is formed by observing the manufacturing process from paper material to finished cardboard up close. A powerful experience that allows participants to feel the scale, sounds, and scents that only a factory can provide is an attractive feature.

2. Cardboard workshop

Participants will experience making a rugby ball-shaped table. This workshop is an activity that both children and adults can enjoy, such as using a wooden hammer to create shapes. Since they can take their creation home, it is also ideal for keeping a souvenir or creating memories.

3. Learning through the visit and experience

We will provide useful knowledge, and participants will learn about the structure and properties of cardboard. Participants will also gain a deeper understanding of our products and company by touching the actual cardboard and asking questions.

4. Hospitality to participants

As a community-based company, we will offer a warm place of interaction. Through the enjoyable experience of “seeing, learning, and making,” participants will fully feel the attractiveness of cardboard.
